Bost Building before preservationRivers of Steel is involved with the preservation of historic buildings, locations and artifacts that help to tell and interpret the story of "Big Steel" throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

Its largest project to date is the restoration of the Bost Building on Homestead's historic 8th Avenue. 

Other preservation projects for which it acts as a funding agent include the Flatiron Building in Brownsville, the B.F. Jones Library in Aliquippa, and the Carnegie Libraries in Braddock and Homestead.
